A historical sports drama inspired by India’s first Olympic gold medal, “Gold” traces the golden era of Indian hockey through the journey of Tapan Das, a young assistant manager who dreamt of playing for an independent nation.

Reema Kagti, who hails from Guwahati started her career as an Assistant Director in many leading productions like Dil Chahta Hai, Lakshya and Lagaan. She has assisted both siblings, Farhan and Zoya Akhtar in their directorial ventures.

She made her directorial debut with the ensemble comedy drama Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd. However, her big break as a director came with Talaash, a suspense thriller starring Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Rani Mukherjee and Nawazuddin Siddique. The movie did well at the box office and fetched critical acclaim as well. Now, it is to be seen whether she can attain box office glory with Gold.

The film also stars Mouni Roy, Amit Sadh, Kunal Kapoor, Sunny Kaushal, Vineet Kumar Singh and Mouni Roy.
