The COVID-19 fatalities in Assam increased to 528 with 17 more positive patients succumbing to the disease, while the state’s caseload went up to 1,50349 after 1,380 infections were recorded on Thursday.
Assam health and family welfare minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet said five of the 17 fresh fatalities were registered in Kamrup district, three in Sonitpur, two each in Kamrup Metropolitan and Baksa and one each in Tinsukia, Cachar, Dibrugarh, Darrang and Dhubri districts.

The 3266 new cases include 376 from Kamrup and 123 from Jorhat districts.
The new infections were detected out of 20,557 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, Sarma said.
Assam now has 30,454 active cases while 1,19,364 patients have recovered from the disease and three migrated out of the state.
