Assam handloom minister Ranjit Dutta on Monday visited the Zonal Health Screening Centre at Tezpur University and took stock of the arrangements made by Sonitpur district administration.

A large number of people from five districts un North Assam zone, who have returned to Assam from outside, are presently quarantined at Tezpur University.

Dutta was accompanied by Sonitpur DC Manvendra Pratap Singh, ADC Parag Kakaty and other senior district administration officials.

Dutta also interacted with various doctors and health workers engaged in screening of the incoming people.

He later reviewed various facilities available at the centre.

He also discussed the status of the quarantine facilities set up in various LACs of the district with the Deputy Commissioner and asked him to ensure to make them fully functional at the earliest.
