Newly floated regional party Raijor Dal president, Akhil Gogoi on Friday appealed to the public for financial support to contest the upcoming Assam assembly elections.
Gogoi, who is contesting the Assam assembly elections from the Sivasagar constituency, took to Twitter to request the people of the state to help him fight the elections.

Gogoi said that he wants to become the mouthpiece of the people of Assam in the state legislative assembly.
“I want to roar like a lion against all the anti-community actions of the state government,” said Gogoi.

The Raijor Dal president who had been in jail since December 2019, is currently admitted to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital in Guwahati.
He had initially filed his nomination for the Mariani state assembly seat, which he later withdrew with a view to defeat the BJP in the ensuing elections.
“A candidate is estimated to require about Rs 30 lakhs to contest the elections. I appeal to the public to help me contest the Assam state assembly elections”.
