Akhil Gogoi said that Gaurav Gogoi took the decision to field the Congress candidate on his own with no discussion with the alliance.
“His decision has insulted the alliance and hence we feel that we cannot support him”, he added.
Akhil added that Gaurav had taken the decision to make his path clear to become the Chief Minister of Assam in 2026.

The Raijor Dal leader also claimed that the Congress seems to be focusing on minority-based areas solely to stay in power. “However, they need to know that this won’t work in the long run”, he said.
He further added that they were disappointed with the issues related to the Behali constituency.
Criticising the Congress further, Akhil Gogoi said that Raijor Dal is now preparing to contest all the 126 assembly seats in Assam.
He claimed that there also can be no coalition-backed government without the participation of Raijor Dal.
He also stated that Congress has been using outdated tactics which seem to no longer work.
