Guwahati: A priest in Nagaon, Assam was found dead at the temple premises he had been operating for years.
The priest was identified as Damodar Guruji and he was found dead in the Barhampur area of Nagaon.

He was a resident of Karbi Anglong in Assam.

Locals said that the priest was found hanging by a ceiling on Monday morning.

They immediately informed the police regarding the incident.

A police team arrived at the spot and suspected the incident to be a possible suicide.
An investigation has been initiated into all angles.
The deceased was the priest of the Bamuni Sarbajanin Durga Mandir in Barhampur.
