In the world ranking of boxing in the 69kg weight category, announced by the International Olympic Committeeโ€™s Boxing Task Force, the boxer from Assam has been ranked third.

She is presently the highest-ranked Indian female boxer.

The 2020 Olympics will be held in Tokyo and for the main event, the International Olympic Committeeโ€™s Boxing Task Force will be conducting the qualifiers for selecting the boxers.

The Olympic qualifiers were scheduled to be held in China from February 3-14, however, due to the coronavirus outbreak the event has been shifted to Jordan and the qualification will take place from March 3-11.

The Indian contingent will travel to Italy on February 17 for a 15-day training camp and they will be joined by six more teams.
