Assam: Probe ordered against nursing home in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha on Thursday ordered an inquiry against Aditya Nursing Home.

The DC on Wednesday received a complaint from Tirap DC about sufferings of Arunachal Pradesh patients in the nursing home.

“Tirap DC complained Jha about the Arunachal patients’ sufferings at the nursing home,” sources informed.

After that Jha ordered Additional DC Partha Pratim Bairagi to conduct an inquiry into the allegation.

“Jha asked Bairagi to submit a report within seven days,” sources added.

According to reports, a patient was forcefully admitted to the ICU even when there was no requirement.

“Some non-serious patients were forcefully admitted to the ICU to squeeze out money,” sources informed.

Dr Nirmal Sahewalla, director of Aditya Nursing Home refuted the allegation.

He said that the allegation was false and baseless.

He said that he has done an internal inquiry and submitted to the Dibrugarh DC.
