Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Ripun Bora has reconstituted the media department of PCC with Bobbeeta Sharma as its chairperson.

Bobbeeta Sharma has replaced the outgoing chairperson, Bhagirath Karan.

The order, issued in this regard by APCC general secretary (organization) Ranjan Bora, said: “Ripun Bora, MP, President, Assam PCC is pleased to reconstitute the Media Department of Assam PCC as follows with immediate effect.”

Besides Bobbeeta Sharma as its chairperson, the new committee of the APCC’s media department has Prafulla Kr Das, Rhituparna Konwar and Dilip Sarma as general secretaries.

The new committee of the APCC’s media department also has Manab Jyoti Kalita as its secretary.

Sharma has thanked APCC president Ripun Bora and the party’s Assam in-charge Jitendra Singh for appointing her as the new chairman of APCC’s media department.

“Assam PCC also highly appreciates the commendable services rendered by Dr Bhagirath Karan, the outgoing chairman of the media department, APCC,” the order said.

“I thank APCC President Sri @ripunbora dangoria & General Secretary in charge Assam Sri @JitendraSAlwar ji for entrusting this responsibility on me to serve & take forward ideals of @INCIndia based on democratic principles of liberty, equality & fraternity,” Sharma tweeted.

Bobbeeta Sharma is the former chairperson of the Assam State Film Finance and Development Corporation and is an independent television producer and director.

She contested the 2014 Lok Sabha polls from Guwahati constituency and the Assembly polls in 2016 from Gauhati East constituency. However, she could not win both the polls.
