The Election Commission (EC) has transferred the Returning Officer of Karimganj Lok Sabha (LS) Constituency of Assam, Phani Bhushan Roy.

Reports stated that Roy, who is also the deputy commissioner of Karimganj, was transferred after Central observers complained against him.

The Central observers complained to EC that Roy did not have a “scant of idea about his constituency” and also about his “non-performance”.
