In an urgent notice, the Assam Police requested such people “to present themselves at the nearest hospital or PHC” by 6 am on April 7, 2020.
They may also call at Helpline No. 104 for informing the authorities of their presence and condition, it said.
“If such persons deliberately fail to present themselves by the given deadline, 6 am on April 7, 2020 or inform the authorities, strict legal action will be taken against the concerned individuals,” the Assam Police said.

The Assam Police also said strict action will also be taken against those, who have given shelter to such people, even after having knowledge about their travel history and have hidden it.
The action will be taken “under relevant provisions of IPC & Disaster Management Act 2005”, the Assam Police said.
However, the Assam Police thanked “those socially responsible citizens who have come forward and presented themselves or shared information or appealed to their fellow citizens to come forward and declare themselves”.
It may be mentioned that most of the COVID19 positive cases detected in Assam have links with the Tablighi Jammat held in Delhi’s Nizamuddin Markaz from March 13-15.
On Monday, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press conference warned strict action against those who attended the Tablighi Jamaat event in Delhi’s Nizamuddin Markaz but are hiding themselves without cooperating the authorities.
Minister Sarma said if these people fail to come forward and present themselves before the authorities, the state government will take strict action against them.
