Guwahati: Assam Police arrested a man with a huge haul of suspected Yaba tablets in Cachar on Sunday.

A police official said that the team made a significant drug bust in the Katakhal area of Cachar district.

The team from the Dholai Police Station intercepted a consignment of 30,000 Yaba tablets based on inputs.

The estimated worth of the suspected items was said to be Rs 9 crore.

They also apprehended a suspect.

The arrested individual, identified as Abdul Alim, a resident of Saptagram, was found in possession of the drugs.

A scooter used for transportation of the contraband items was also seized.

The narcotics were reportedly being smuggled from Mizoram’s Aizawl.

Police are currently investigating the matter to uncover a larger possible drug trafficking network.
