A Police team from Mangaldai Sadar Police Station on Saturday seized a huge consignment of cannabis (ganja) from a Guwahati bound DI van.
Two persons have also been arrested in this connection.

The Officer-in-Charge of Mangaldai Police Station, Inspector Dinabandhu Bhuyan, while informing this to Northeast Now said, “Under the instruction of Darrang Superintendent of Police Amrit Bhuyan, a point to check the goods carrying vehicles was set up where the cannabis was seized.”
He further informed that the seized cannabis weighs around 30 kilograms and it was recovered from a secret chamber.
The van bearing the registration number AS-01-HC- 8324 was moving from Tezpur to Guwahati, the police informed.

The driver and his helper, who were arrested by the police, have been identified as Kamrul and Khairul.
Both of them are residents of the Batadrava area in Nagaon district.
