The Assam police has arrested a Mizoram policeman for his alleged involvement in a blast near a police outpost in Assam side.
The Mizoram cop identified as Laldintwanga, an Indian Reserve Battalion (IRBN) personnel and resident of Bhairabi area of Kolasib district, was arrested by the Assam police on Saturday.

The policeman from Mizoram was arrested by the Assam police in connection with a blast on Tuesday near the Baicherra BOP under Ramnathpur police station in Hailakandi district of Assam.
“During the investigation, we found that the Mizoram miscreants used detonating cord for blasting the explosive. We have arrested one Mizoram citizen for being involved in the explosive blast,” Hailakandi SP Gaurav Upadhyay was quoted as saying by HT.

Meanwhile, Laldintwanga – the arrested policeman from Mizoram – has been sent to judicial custody by a local court in Hailakandi.
This fresh tension along the Assam-Mizoram border comes after almost a two-month calm along the inter-state border areas.
The Mizoram cop has been booked under sections 447 (trespass) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
