According to reports, the dead bodies were of a father and daughter who died after an accident.

Their scooter collided with a truck parked on the roadside.

They fell on the road and before any help could arrive, a truck ran over them as it failed to stop on time.

Both received severe injuries during the incident and died before any medical assistance could be provided.

Following the incident, police were informed who arrived on the spot for investigation.

However, the controversy began while recovering the dead bodies.

Instead of using a stretcher or other methods to recover the bodies, it was seen that police officials wrapped them in a blue bag and dragged the bodies with ropes to the vehicle meant for transport.

This led to wide criticism of the on-duty police officials.

However, Assam’s Director General of Police, GP Singh informed that an investigation would be carried out regarding the incident.

He wrote on X, “Reference road accident at Sipajhar, Darrang – An enquiry has been ordered to ascertain circumstances of the said incident.”
