An Assam police personnel, constable Roben Das, drowned while attempting to nab a group of cattle smugglers in South Salmara district of Assam.
The operation to nab the cattle smugglers were carried out in the India-Bangladesh border in the district.
Condoling the death of Das, the Assam Police in a tweet said, “During an operation by @SSalmaraPolice near Indo-Bangladesh Border to nab cattle smugglers, CN Roben Das made the supreme sacrifice when he drowned while attempting to apprehend the culprits.”
“We offer our deepest condolences to his family & will always be inspired by his bravery,” the tweet added.
