Assam Police backs PM Modi, urges people to avoid single-use plastic

Assam Police have sent out an appeal urging everyone to avoid single-use plastic and support Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his war against plastic menace.

In a tweet, the Assam police said, “The Earth, is all we have in common. It’s our collective & individual responsibility to preserve the world, we live in.”

“Let’s come together to heed Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji’s call & shun single-use plastic. Reduce, Remove & Recycle. #SayNoToPlastic,” the tweet added.

Not just generating awareness on environment, but Assam Police in recent past been extremely vocal about a various social issue and have been making several thought-provoking and witty tweets.

In June this year, an Assam Police tweet on ganja seizure made nationwide headlines.

“Anyone lost a huge (590 kgs) amount of Cannabis/Ganja and a truck in and around Chagolia Checkpoint last night? Don’t panic, we found it. Please get in touch with @Dhubri_Police. They will help you out, for sure ? Great job Team Dhubri,” Assam Police tweeted then.
