Assam police arrests man linked to ‘fake’ video of Amit Shah

GUWAHATI: The Assam police, on Monday (April 29), arrested a person for being allegedly linked to a ‘fake’ video of union home minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah.

The arrested individual has been identified as Reetom Singh.

It may be mentioned here that the ‘fake’ video featuring union home minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Amit Shah has been circulating on various social media platforms.

Meanwhile, union minister Kiren Rijiju took a dig at the Congress party for sharing the ‘doctored’ video of Amit Shah on social media.

Rijiju posted a split-screen video showcasing the disparity between the ‘fake’ and original versions of the video, condemning the Congress for allegedly spreading misinformation.

Earlier, the Delhi police had taken legal action by filing a first information report (FIR) against the circulation of ‘altered’ videos.
