Guwahati: Assam Police on Thursday arrested a woman from Nagaland in Assamโs Charaideo district for allegedly assisting the banned insurgent outfit United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent).
The accused was identified as Litao Konyak, a resident of Tuensang district in Nagaland.
According to police sources, she allegedly helped facilitate and guide the movement of a youth who had joined ULFA-I.
Investigators suspect that she may have had links with the militant network operating in the region.
Police said the woman is being interrogated to ascertain the extent of her involvement and possible connections with the insurgent organisation.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
