Assam pilgrims who had gone to Kedarnath Temple had to remain stranded due to a massive landslide at a road leading to the temple in Uttarkhand.

A huge boulder which came rolling from the mountain due to landslide had lead to the complete destruction of a bridge leading to Kedarnath Temple.

The destruction of the bridge had left a number of pilgrims stranded and they could not find any way to visit the temple.

The pilgrims from Assam who had to remain stranded have been identified as Pushpanjali Kalita of Tangla, Rituparna Roy of Guwahati and a child named Nishan Bhuyan.

The stranded pilgrims have been tried to be contacted by their families.

It may be mentioned that eight pilgrims who were going to Kedarnath Temple had been injured due to landslide.

Every year, lakhs of pilgrims visit the Kedarnath Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.
