One Pathsala woman got duped of over Rs 41,000 by a fake caller, who claimed to be from the State Bank of India (SBI).
The victim has been identified as Kabita Das of Chaki village of Bajali sub-division and she has registered a complaint at the Patacharkuchi Police station.
” I have a bank account at the Pathsala branch of SBI in my husband’s name,” she said.
“As he lives outside Pathsala, so I operate the account,” she further said.
“One person pretending to be an SBI officer from Delhi called me and asked me to give me ATM number of my husband’s account, saying if I don’t then the account will be seized,” she further wrote.
“Out of panic I gave away the details and when I visited the branch later, I found that Rs 41,000 was deducted from the account,” Das further wrote in the complaint.
“I request the police to take immediate action and trace the culprits and arrest them,” she added.
