Panchayat polls in Assam will be held after February 15 next.
A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting held at the office of State Election Commission in Guwahati on Tuesday. The decision was taken because of the publication of the draft National Register of Citizens (NRC) by December 31.
The crucial meeting was attended by representatives of all political parties.
