The advisor of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS), Akhil Gogoi, while addressing the open session of All Bodoland Minority Students Union (ABMSU) at Salakati in Kokrajhar district on Sunday said that only section of contractors had been sustained in BTC but indigenous communities are not witnessing the pace of development.

Peasant leader Gogoi said indigenous communities like Rajbongshis, Adivasis, Nath Yogi, and religious minorities were not developed in BTC. He said the government of Assam led by Sarbananda Sonowal who is also the head of Home department and BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary had failed to fulfill the aspiration of the people of the region. He alleged that the government was involved in the killing of nationalist leaders to make the society voiceless against the misdeeds of the government.

Gogoi said the president of the ABMSU Lafiqul Islam was killed by the government agency for which the perpetrators are yet to be arrested despite the case has been handed over the CBI.

Journalist Parag Kumar Das was also killed by the government agency for which the culprits are not arrested till today, he said, adding that the government has been involving in such heinous act on nationalist leaders just to stop their voice against the wrong doing of the government.

Meanwhile, the president of the Kokrajhar district Bodoland Students Union (BSU), student wing of the BPF while reacting to Akhil Gogoi said the peasant leader had soft corner for suspected Bangladeshis but he never raise voice for the cause of the indigenous tribal people. He said Bodoland University, CIT, Medical College, Engineering College, Nursing College and other higher educational institutions and good road communications came only after BTC was formed but Gogoi has never seen such development in BTC.

He also said these institutions, roads and bridges and other infrastructures were not only for a community but every community are enjoying the development in BTC. He also reiterated that Gogoi had political ambition by supporting the issues of non indigenous people just to garner support from them.

The open meeting of the ABMSU was chaired by the president of the union Abu Sayed Ansari and was also attended by several leaders of AKRSU and AASAA.
