Guwahati: A massive consignment of fake Indian currency notes (FICN) was seized in Dhubri, Assam on Saturday night.
Police on Sunday informed that along with the notes, they also apprehended one person believed to be a FICN dealer.

The seized notes were in Rs 500 denomination with a face value of Rs 2 crore.
The police said that based on specific inputs a raid was conducted in the Barghola area of Dhirghat, Dhubri.
During the raid, the police apprehended a man identified as Sahinur Islam.

On checking him and his house thoroughly, the police found nearly Rs 2 crore in fake currency
The accused also said that the money was meant for distribution and further to be sold to distributors at Rs 7 lakh.
The police are verifying his statement and further investigating allegations put on him.
