A road accident took place in Sangti Hidi under Bokajan Police Station in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district, killing one person and injuring another.

The deceased is yet to be identified.

The incident occurred at about 6:30 pm on Tuesday when a car rammed into a truck parked on the roadside on the national highway 36 at Sangti Hidi and turned turtle.

The car was on its way from Golaghat to Dimapur in Nagaland at the time of the accident.

Bystanders contacted the 108 ambulance service and the injured was rushed to the Bokajan community health centre.

He was later taken to Dimapur for better medical treatment.

Police arrived on the spot and took the body of the deceased for autopsy.
