Olympic bronze medallist and star boxer from Assam – Lovlina Borgohain will be appointed as a deputy superintendent of police in the state. 

This was informed by Assam education minister Ranuj Pegu after a cabinet meeting in Guwahati on Thursday.

The Assam cabinet on Thursday approved the appointment of Lovlina Borgohain as a DSP in the state police force. 

“We have cleared appointment of Lovlina Borgohain as DSP,” Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

Lovlina Borgohain will be initially appointed as a DSP on probation, an official statement informed. 

Among other key decisions taken during the cabinet meeting, Assam government has decided to “raise loan from NABARD for infra projects”. 

Rs 508.60 crore loan to be raised by the Govt of Assam from NABARD for projects sanctioned under RIDF-XXVII,” CM Himanta Biswa Sarma informed.
