The Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) has signed a MoU with IIT Guwahati (IITG) for incubation of NRL-sponsored startups.
The NRL sponsored startups are under its startup funding initiative ‘iDEATION’, reports .
The MoU was signed at IITG between Director (Technical), NRL Bhaskar Phukan and Director, IITG Prof Gautam Biswas in the presence of CGM (Tech) NRL Nikunja Borthakur, DGM (CC) NRL Madhuchanda Adhikari, Dean (R&D) IITG Prof Gopal Das and Prof K Darunkumar Singh, faculty-in-charge, Technology Incubation Centre (TIC), IITG, on Friday.
The MoU will facilitate providing incubation facility and mentoring to the startups selected through iDEATION by the established Technology Incubation Centre (TIC) of IITG.
“Launched in 2017 for nurturing and boosting a startup ecosystem in the North East, iDEATION is NRL’s contribution towards the ambitious Startup India Mission of the Government of India,” said an NRL official.
A successful first edition of the initiative saw funding to the tune of Rs. 1.29 crore being allotted to four selected startup projects as seed funding and scale-up funding.
The second edition launched in February 2018, too, garnered a huge response from the intrepid entrepreneurs of the northeast.
