Lumding: A false alarm of a fire on the Tripura Sundari Express at Lumding Junction in Hojai, Assam on Wednesday caused unnecessary panic among passengers.
The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has since clarified that the incident was due to brake binding and not a fire.

After examining the situation, it was determined that the smoke was caused by brake friction and not a fire.

The train was delayed for about an hour due to the incident but resumed its journey after necessary repairs.
While the situation was quickly brought under control, there were report of any injuries to any passenger.
