Guwahati: NIT Silchar in Assam has made headlines for wrong reasons as reports indicate a significant altercation involving students at the campus.
According to reports, three cooks from one of the hostels of the institute sustained serious injuries following a physical confrontation with a group of students.

The incident took place on Friday night at hostel no. 7 of NIT Silchar. Sources suggest that what began as a verbal disagreement between the students and the cooks escalated into a violent altercation.
In addition to assaulting the cooks, the students also caused extensive damage to kitchen equipment and facilities, sources said.
Following the incident, the authorities at NIT have launched an investigation into the incident to ascertain the details surrounding the altercation.
