Guwahati: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has transformed a neglected wasteland at BG Colony in Guwahati’s Maligaon area into a vibrant park named Sirisha Rail Udyaan.

NFR addressed these issues by reclaiming the land and constructing a beautiful park.

Sirisha Rail Udyaan spans over 5,500 square meters and offers modern amenities for all ages.

Visitors can enjoy walking and running tracks, seating areas, a well-maintained lawn, and an open gym. Separate washrooms ensure convenience for everyone.

The park’s walls are adorned with educational murals showcasing Assam‘s natural beauty and rich cultural heritage.

A dedicated children’s play area keeps youngsters entertained, while solar LED lamps ensure illumination after dark.

The park’s centrepiece is a picturesque pond with two water fountains, adding a touch of tranquillity.

Residents have wholeheartedly welcomed this initiative. They are relieved to be free from the prior issues of garbage, flies, and mosquitoes.

The transformed space now provides a safe and enjoyable area for children to play and residents to relax with a walk.
