The arrested NDFB (S) rebel

Army and police in a joint operation arrested a National Democratic Front of Bodoland-Songbijit (NDFB-S) militant from Ultapani Labanyapur area under Bishmuri police outpost in Kokrajhar district.

Acting on specific input, a team of Assam police and Indian army launched a joint search operation at Labanyapur area under Bishmuri police outpost and managed to nab the rebel along with arms and ammunition.

One 7.65 mm pistol, two rounds of live ammunition, Rs 14,600 in cash and some incriminating documents were recovered from him.

Kokrajhar SP Rajen Singh said that the cadre has been identified as Thumba Brahma alias Thwiswm and was a 42nd batch cadre of the outfit trained in Myanmar.

The Kokrajhar SP said the rebel was accompanied by another NDFB(S) cadre identified as Jewel Narzary alias Tamang but managed to escape.
