Guwahati: A new chapter in youth development was introduced on Saturday as Assam Sports and Youth Welfare minister Nandita Gorlosa formally launched an NCC unit at Girijananda Chowdhury University in Guwahati.
The event, marked by a vibrant ceremony, was attended by dignitaries including Brig Ajit Kumar Borah, Group Commander, Guwahati Group of NCC, the university’s Vice Chancellor Prof. Kandarpa Das, and President of SSA Society, Jasoda Ranjan Das.

The NCC, known for its role in molding well-rounded individuals, was celebrated at the event through captivating group songs and dances performed by NCC cadets and university students.
Minister Gorlosa lauded the NCC as a beacon of hope, instilling values of duty, integrity, and service in young minds. She urged the university to provide necessary support to the NCC unit to foster responsible citizens.
The newly established NCC unit at Girijananda Chowdhury University will operate under the guidance of 7 Assam Battalion, NCC, Dhubri, and aims to provide students with opportunities for holistic development and nation-building.
