Achieving yet another milestone in the fight against drug trafficking, the Karbi Anglong police have seized a huge quantity of drugs along the interstate Assam-Nagaland border in Karbi Anglong on Tuesday.

As per reports, the Khatkhati police led by John Das, SDPO Bokajan carried out a raid in the Janakpukhuri area adjacent to the Nagaland border and recovered 80 soap cases containing 1.05-kilogram heroin worth approximately 7 crore in the international black market.

Police have also arrested a Naga couple in connection. The arrested couple has been identified as 27-year-old Besii Mao and his wife Kaiha Mao.

Both are residents of Naga United Village on the 4th Mile of Dimapur in Nagaland.

Preliminary interrogation revealed that the seized drugs were brought from Manipur. Further investigations are on.
