After being suspended from the Assam Congress, MLA from Raha constituency, Sashi Kanta Das said that if his suspension is not revoked, then there might be a Congress-free Raha.
Speaking about the suspension, Das said, “It was an unfortunate decision that the party had taken and this needs to be reviewed.”
He added that if the decision is not reviewed that there will be a “Congress-free” Raha.
“I had been with the party in its worst times but this is very unfortunate for me to be suspended like this”, he added.

He claimed that big leaders of the party have close ties with members of the other parties but there is no action seen for those leaders.
Das also said that he still thinks that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has done a great job in terms of development.
Sashi Kanta Das was suspended from the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee on Friday for his alleged “anti-party activities”.

As per the APCC, Das was suspended on disciplinary grounds with immediate effect.
Earlier on December 20, the APCC had issued a show-cause notice to Das after he had “extended” support to the BJP-led government in the state.
The Assam Congress gave him a 24-hour deadline to MLA Sashi Kanta Das for responding to the show cause notice but he did not respond.
