Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was shown black flags by AASU members protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in Golaghat on Saturday.

Waving black flags, the AASU members raised slogans against the BJP government and the CAA.

Police personnel present in the area had a tough time pushing back the protesters.

Slogans of ‘BJP Go Back’, ‘Himanta Biswa Sarma Murdabad’, ‘CAA aami namanu‘ (We won’t accept CAA) and ‘Jai Aai Asom’ rent the air as the rally passed through.

Minister Sarma was in Golaghat on Saturday to attend a programme, where several Congress leaders along with grassroot workers will join the BJP.
