Assam minister for power, tourism development and cultural affairs Bimal Borah participated in a series of events across the Bihpuria constituency in Lakhimpur district with an aim at developing its cultural heritage and promoting tourism.
Minister Bora, who has been in Bihpuria since Sunday began his programme on Monday by visiting the under-construction Madhavdev Kalakshetra at the premises of Sri Sri Badala Ata Satra at Narayanpur in the morning.

He inspected the construction site and took stock of the progress of the work of the mega cultural infrastructure.
This was followed by historic Radha Pukhuri, Satrahi Satra, Deori Kalakshetra and Deberapar Thaan.

The minister also visited the birthplace of Sri Sri Aniruddha Dev at Mayamora Bishnu Balikuchi at Dhalpur and Keshabcharan Ata at Bhatowkuchi and the Ahom era Maghnowa Doul.
He also visited Rongoti Pukhuri in Shimaluguri, Dhuwahat Belguri Satra, Golden Pagoda of the Khamtis in Borpathar, Sri Sri Aniruddhadev Naharati Thaan in Bihpuria, Kandali Pukhuri and Changini Satra.
Bora inspected sports infrastructure and training programmes in Shimaluguri public playground along with Lakhimpur deputy commissioner Sumit Sattawan and district sports officials.
Earlier on Sunday, Bimal Bora participated in a Teachers’ Day function at Shankardev College at Pathali Pahar near Bandardewa.
Bihpuria MLA Dr Amiya Kumar Bhuyan accompanied the minister in all the visits and functions.
