Assam agriculture minister Atul Bora on Friday reviewed the Covid-19 situation in Dibrugarh district and held a detailed discussion with all the department heads of the district.
Bora has been entrusted with the responsibility of managing and monitoring the Covid-19 situation in Dibrugarh and Tinsukia, both of which have recorded an alarming spike in positive cases in the past month.

“The Covid-19 positive cases have been declining in the past few days in Dibrugarh. Today we discussed in detail on the measures that need to be taken to curb further infection,” Bora said.
Many important issues including supply of oxygen were discussed during the review meeting
“Due to the restrictions we have seen that Covid-19 cases are slightly declining in Dibrugarh,” Bora said.

Bora also met the principal of the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) and other health officials to enquire about the different issues they are facing in regards to the ongoing pandemic.
Bora also discussed preparations on how to mitigate floods in Dibrugarh.
“Last year, due to Covid-19 situation we didn’t get a chance to prepare for the floods, but this time we have instructed the district administration to take all possible measures to tackle the flood problem,” said Bora.
He also said the government is contemplating on setting up cold storage facilities in Assam to store the agriculture products.
“Through media reports I come to know that many agriculture products were damaged due to cold storage facilities. We have discussed the matter with the chief minister and other stakeholders to find a way to solve the problem,” the minister said.
