Guwahati: A middle-aged woman was found dead in Tinsukia, Assam on Thursday morning.
The police have suspected that she was raped before being murdered, and her body was subsequently discarded.
Locals identified the deceased as the wife of a man named Suring from the area.

Her body was discovered near Baghjan EPS by a person who went fishing in a nearby pond during the early morning hours.

Suspicions of rape and murder quickly arose among the locals, who immediately reported the incident.
Police arrived at the scene shortly after the body was found.
An investigation has been initiated.
