Shillong: The Assam and Meghalaya governments, who had shown commitment to resolving their interstate border dispute in the first phase, seem to be dragging their feet on the second phase.
Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh who Chairman of the West Khasi Hills Regional Border Committee, claimed that efforts to contact Assam counterparts have been met with radio silence.

Lyngdoh said that the final report hinges on the regional committee’s visit to the affected areas, initially planned for winter 2024.
He said, however, Assam’s response has been lukewarm, leaving the process in limbo.
