Mazbat MLA Charan Boro laid the foundation stones of three projects in Udalguri district on Sunday.
Boro, who is also the adviser of the Udalguri district Gudi Bathou Afad, laid the foundation stone of the visitor’s restrooms at Bathou Kheraisali, Kanthalguri in Udalguri district.
The project will be completed at a cost of Rs 10 lakh.
The committee members of the district organization were also present on the occasion.
MLA Boro while stressing the importance of Bathou traditions in the Bodo community assured the locals present in the foundation laying ceremony that a heritage Bathou mandir would be built in the present site.
Boro also laid the foundation stone of a link road to the Bathou Kheraisali, Kanthalguri.
An amount of Rs 1.3 crore has been earmarked for the construction of the link road.
Both the projects will be completed under the Assam Darshan Scheme.
In another programme, the Mazbat MLA laid the foundation stone of a boundary wall of the Bathou mandir at No 1 Gorhmara, Kajiamati in Udalguri district, to be constructed with MLALAD fund.
In the same programme, he installed the ‘lai khuta’ of the two-day Gudi Bathou annual conference to be held on January 27-28.
MLA Boro is the reception committee chairman of the annual conference.
