Guwahati: A man in Jorhat, Assam allegedly stabbed his brother to death on Sunday.

Reports claimed that the incident took place at the Kathalguri tea estate in Mariani, Jorhat.

The accused identified as Chalu Munda claimed that he was innocent but locals allege that he murdered his brother.

The police identified the deceased as Rantu Munda.

The entire situation arose over a personal dispute between the two.

Locals claimed that they had a personal clash for several days and on Sunday the clash turned out to be fatal for one of the brothers.

The accused allegedly stabbed Rantu with a machete (locally known as a dao) on Sunday morning after a fight.

Rantu died on the spot before any help could arrive.

Chalu, however, claimed that he knew nothing about the incident.

The accused said that he was being framed for something he did not do.

The police are questioning the accused regarding the incident.
