A local court sentenced a man from Margherita in Assam’s Tinsukia district to life imprisonment for killing his wife.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Sangeeta Gogoi sentenced Achami Ram Gaur to life imprisonment under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
According to reports, Achamiya, a resident of Gurguri Lines in Chamdang Tea Garden, Margherita had killed his wife with an axe.
The woman’s father lodged a complaint accusing Achamiya of killing her.
