Assam: Man missing after Mankachar boat capsize found dead in Bangladesh

Guwahati: The body of a person missing after a boat capsized in Mankachar, Assam was found near the Khewar Char area in Bangladesh on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Kubad Hussain.

Kubad Hussain went missing on Sunday after a boat capsized in the Nepur Alga area.

Another person identified as Samen Mondal still remains missing.

He was on the boat along with 18 passengers that sunk on the Brahmaputra river.

Operations to retrieve Mandal is still continuing.

It may be mentioned that in the same incident, a minor was killed on Sunday while two others Hussain and Mandal were reported missing.

The incident took place along the Indo-Bangladesh border during a storm.

An investigation is being carried out.
