Guwahati: A 28-year-old man was murdered by his own father in Sivasagar, Assam on Thursday.
According to reports, the 28-year-old was stabbed to death over a family dispute and his habit of being chronically drunk.

The father, identified as Ramen Barua, allegedly snapped under the strain of his son’s chronic drunkenness and unruly behaviour.

According to reports, the victim’s alcoholism had long been a source of tension within the household.

Family members told the police that the victim’s intoxication often led to verbal altercations and disruptive behaviour, causing frequent clashes in their family.

It was alleged the victim had come home on Wednesday night in an inebriated state and began using foul language towards his father.
This led to Baruah being frustrated and he allegedly used a machete to fatally stab his son.
The police have taken Ramen Barua into custody and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
