Tamulpur: On Thursday, a 32-year-old man was reportedly killed in an explosion at the Sukanjuli firing range on the Indo-Bhutan border in Tamulpur, Assam.

Khempo Narzary, a resident of Hartola village, entered the restricted area during an ongoing armed training session involving the Indian Army’s Punjab and GR Tan Madras Regiments.

He reportedly began collecting remnants of bomb gunpowder, including an 81mm mortar bomb.

Unfortunately, the bomb detonated while he attempted to break it apart, claiming his life.

Police responded promptly upon receiving information about the incident. They recovered Narzary’s body and initiated an autopsy.

Further investigation is being carried out regarding the incident.
