In yet another incident of patricide, a 35-year-old man allegedly hacked his father to death in the Udalguri district.

The incident took place at Nabinpolly locality of Tangla town in the Udalguri district.

According to sources, a trivial dispute led to the murder on Friday night.

Reportedly, a heated argument ensued between Arjun Das, the deceased and his son Rabindra Das.

Sources said, “Santosh picked up a quarrel with his father over a trivial issue and hacked him to death with an axe in a fit of rage.”

Meanwhile, Tangla Police have arrested Rabindra Das on charges of killing his father.

Police have also interrogated the wife of accused.

“Investigation into the matter is on,” said police sources.
