A man from central Assam’s Hojai district reportedly tested COVID-19 positive in Dubai.
The man, Nazmul Haque Laskar, from Fultoli village under Lanka police station in Hojai district, has been admitted to hospital and his condition is stable.
Laskar has been working in Dubai for the last couple of years.
He had contacted his family members over telephone and ensured his COVID-19 infection.
Laskar’s family members said he had visited them at his native village in the first half of February last and later went back to Dubai.
The number of Covid-19 positive cases in Assam reached 59 after another six persons tested positive for the virus on Friday.
Out of the six positive cases, five are passengers of the bus from Ajmer Sharif to Silchar and one is a student of Regional Dental College in Guwahati.
