Guwahati: A man has been arrested by the police from the Juria area of Nagaon, Assam for allegedly duping several people in the name of processing their visa applications.

As per reports, the accused has been identified as Abdul Barek, a resident of Kasarigaon in the Juria area of Nagaon, Assam.

However, he did not do the job he was paid for and eventually tried to escape.

The police said that they are investigating the matter and have taken Barek into custody.

Two others who may have accompanied Barek are currently on the run.

A police source said that most of the people who paid Barek for the Visa were jobseekers.

Barek had allegedly told them that he could get them through the visa process and also get them jobs abroad.
