The prime accused in the assault of Tinsukia BJP president Lankeswar Moran was on Tuesday apprehended by Tinsukia Police.
Police arrested the main miscreant involved in the physical attack of the district BJP president from Barpathar in the district.
The arrested youth has been identified as one Sahir Hussain and hails from Barpathar.

Tinsukia district president of the BJP, Moran was attacked by a mob on January 30 last by a section of people who were protesting against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in Tinsukia town.
The BJP leader was attacked when he arrived to attend a meeting organised by Lok Jagran Manch to “dispel myths” about the bill.
After he was greeted by black flags by some supporters standing nearby, a group of protestors suddenly started assaulting Moran.
Later an FIR was filed at the Tinsukia police station in connection with the incident.
