As part of Swarnim Vijay Varsh celebrations, the Swarnim Vijay Mashaal (victory flame) arrived at the City Centre Mall in Guwahati, Assam. 

The Mashaal was received by chairman of Assam Chamber of Commerce Rupam Goswami amid loud cheers by youths.   

The Swarnim Vijay Varsh is being celebrated to commemorate 50 years of India’s magnificent victory over Pakistan in 1971. 

A large congregation of youth witnessed the solemn occasion on India’s 75th Independence Day and reminisced the valour of Indian Army and Mukti Bahini.

The event saw enthusiastic cheers of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Matram” which echoed the lobby of the mall.  

Band of BSF played patriotic and martial tunes while “Bhangra and Lazium” dance of the Engineer Unit was witnessed by the enthralled spectators. 

The Mashaal commenced its journey from National War Memorial in New Delhi on December 16 last year.
